Writers Strike gets us NA?
08 Nov 2007
Fox announced it's 2008 schedule in case the writers strike continues beyond christmas:

Fridays: Traditionally a dead night for Fox, but several freshman scripted projects are being dropped into the night. Repeats of “Bones” and “House” start Jan. 4. Immortal detective drama “New Amsterdam” takes the 9 p.m. slot starting Feb. 22 (by that time CBS will have presumably run out of episodes of its own immortal detective drama, "Moonlight," which currently airs in the same time period).

Of course, this is all subject to change, should the writers and the studios come to a solution.
Lasse's earlier films on DVD!
23 Oct 2007
Three of Lasse's very early films will be released in a box on November 14th in Sweden.

The three movies included are:

- en kille och en tjej
- Jag är med barn
- Tva killar och en tjej

The cover will look like this:

I haven't seen any of these, so this is rather exciting!

Thanks so much to Anton for the news! smile
Production on NA "halted"
19 Oct 2007
Production on Fox's midseason drama "New Amsterdam" has been shut down indefinitely.

With seven episodes of supernatural drama in the can, the network's executives have decided to take a look and decide whether to order additional segments, something considered unlikely.

I hope we will get to see at least the seven episodes that have already been shot, but I doubt it.

NA at the New York Television Festival
08 Sep 2007
New Amsterdam premiered last night at the New York Television Festival.

I could only find one review so far, but to my astonishment, it's a good one. Actually, the author was blown away by the pilot and said this at the end of his review:

I'm going out on a limb and saying that the New Amsterdam pilot is pretty much the best pilot I've seen since Lost.

Wow. Read the full article.

And here's another article.

No word on if Lasse was there.
NA promo pictures, sneak peek
23 Aug 2007
I just uploaded a bunch of character promo pics and group shots of the cast.

Find them here.

Also, the New York Television Festival announced today that it will open with a "special sneak-preview" at New Amsterdam on "Thursday, September 6th at New World Stages in Midtown Manhattan" at 8 pm. They will air the pilot and afterwards "the creators and stars of "New Amsterdam" will be on hand for a brief discussion about the show's creation and production. "

ETA: I just found out that episode 3 is called "Honor" for now.
Tiny New Amsterdam update
20 Aug 2007
I just came across the title of the second episode, it is called "Soldier's Heart". The first episode seems to be still untitled, and they're apparently also reshooting parts of the pilot.
New Amsterdam off Fox's fall schedule
09 Aug 2007
So I go on vacation for a week, and when I get back Fox has kicked NA off the fall schedule. Boooo.

Fox is shaking up its fall schedule, putting "New Amsterdam" on ice and keeping "Don't Forget the Lyrics" on air through the fall.

[...]

As for "New Amsterdam," the show remains in production and will bow in midseason. Fox already announced "New Amsterdam" would run Fridays at 9 p.m. come January; so far that's unchanged. Execs stressed that the show wouldn't suffer the fate of past Fox shows announced for fall but never making it to air, such as "Hollyweird" or "Manchester Prep."

Full Article (Variety)

I don't even know what to say about this. People were actually getting excited about the show, it had a decent chance at running at least a full season as the lead-in to House, but January? Friday evening? Nobody will even remember the show then, and who watches TV on Friday evenings anyways? sad
